One day a groups of Monks at Jetavana Temple in Savatthi, the capital city of Kosala, were talking about the story of ingratitude, which is a daily scenario. Even today this topic is current and people still discuss in.

The Lord Buddha know about the monk's discussion. Therefore, he went to the meeting and said "Ingratitude not only happens in human society but this also happened between a lion and woodpecker."

At the monks request, the Lord Buddha told the following story (Jataka) about a lion and a woodpecker.
